On the occasion of the release of Anima, corpo, relazioni. Storia della filosofia da una prospettiva antropologica, edited by Professors Marianelli, Mauro, Moschini and D’Anna, the paper delves into the strengths and the limits of the anthropological approach in the history of philosophy. The article underlines that an authentic anthropological perspective in philosophical issues can only arise by dropping an anthropocentric standpoint: adequate answers to the question of humanity’s position in the world can be found only decentering the human, a process articulated in the textbook through a metaxological framework.
