In quella che molti hanno definito una vittoria annunciata, Nea Dimokratia, il partito del premier uscente Kyriakos Mitsotakis, domenica 25 giugno ha vinto, seppure solo con una maggioranza relativa, le elezioni indette ad appena 5 settimane dalle precedenti – da cui non era uscita una maggioranza parlamentare. Con il 40,5 per cento (lo 0,3 in meno rispetto al 21 maggio) si è infatti aggiudicato il premio di maggioranza (che alla scorsa tornata, con una legge elettorale diversa, non era prevista), aggiudicandosi 158 seggi su 300. Syriza, la sinistra di quell’Alexis Tsipras che fu premier nel drammatico triennio dell’austerity 2015-18, si conferma secondo partito con il 17,8 per cento.
