Erdogan vince le elezioni in Turchia

Il presidente uscente conquista il terzo mandato con il 52,1 per cento dei voti contro il 47,8 per cento del suo sfidante, Kemal Kiliçdaroglu.

Alla fine Recep Tayyip Erdogan ce l’ha fatta, anche se non ha stravinto: sono stati infatti poco più di quattro i punti percentuali di vantaggio sul candidato che ha riunito le opposizioni, Kemal Kiliçdaroglu, nel ballottaggio di domenica 28 maggio. Il presidente rieletto ha tenuto un discorso al palazzo presidenziale, mentre nelle strade scoppiava la festa dei suoi sostenitori.

«Con questa vittoria si è aperta la porta del secolo della Turchia», ha detto riferendosi al centenario della fondazione della Repubblica che cade il 29 ottobre, invitando «a mettere da parte le polemiche»: che non sono mancate, vuoi per i minori spazi avuti dall’opposizione in campagna elettorale, vuoi per la spinosa questione curda.

Tra i primi a congratularsi c’è stato Vladimir Putin, che lo ha invitato «a continuare il nostro dialogo costruttivo su questioni di attualità dell’agenda bilaterale, regionale e internazionale».
