La Cina minaccia gli Usa

Cina e Usa ai ferri corti

The Biden administration is close to finalizing new regulations that would tighten rules on certain overseas U.S. investment, a move aimed at limiting Beijing’s ability to acquire advanced technologies. Xi accused Washington on Monday, March 6, 2023, of trying to isolate his country and hold back its development. That reflects the ruling Communist Party's growing frustration that its pursuit of prosperity and global influence is threatened by U.S. restrictions on access to technology, its support for Taiwan and other moves seen by Beijing as hostile. FILE - A Chinese flag hangs near a security camera outside of a shop in Beijing on Oct. 8, 2019. China has long been seen by the U.S. as a prolific source of anti-American propaganda but less aggressive in its influence operations than Russia, which has used cyberattacks and covert operations to disrupt U.S. elections and denigrate rivals. But many in Washington now think China is increasingly adopting tactics associated with Russia — and there's growing concern the U.S. isn't doing enough to respond. (AP Photo/Mark Schiefelbein, File)
FILE - Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang reads from the Chinese constitution when answering a question about Taiwan during a news conference held on the sidelines of the annual meeting of China's National People's Congress (NPC) in Beijing, Tuesday, March 7, 2023. China's President Xi Jinping accused Washington Monday of trying to isolate his country and hold back its development. Xi also said a U.S.-led campaign of “containment and suppression” of China has “brought unprecedented, severe challenges.” He called on the public to “dare to fight.” Qin on Tuesday sharpened the warning, saying Washington faces possible “conflict and confrontation” if it fails to change course. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning speaks during a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing, Friday, March 3, 2023.
