Nelle foto dell’agenzia Ap le immagini relative alle dichiarazioni ufficiali sulla perquisizione ordinata dalla Fbi, Federal Bureau of Investigation, cioè dal’ agenzia governativa della polizia federale che ha la competenza in tutti gli Stati Uniti su terrorismo, crimine organizzato e servizi segreti.

La forte polarizzazione in campo politico emersa con la candidatura e la vittoria di Donald Trump alle elezioni presidenziali del 2017 ha condotto i sostenitori dell’ex inquilino della Casa Bianca a radunarsi davanti la sua immensa villa in Florida, e al palazzo che porta il suo nome a New York, per contestare le inchieste in corso, frutto a loro parere di intimidazioni e persecuzione verso Trump per impedirgli di ricandidarsi come presidente nel 2024.

Da quanto anticipato dal quotidiano Washington Post il reale motivo dell’insolita e repentina azione della Fbi non sarebbe collegato con le inchieste per appurare il coinvolgimento di Trump nel violento e sanguinoso assalto compiuto a Washington da alcuni suoi sostenitori il 6 gennaio 2021 (foto Ap archivio).

Come riporta l’agenzia Ansa l’intervento della Fbi a casa di Donald Trump troverebbe origine dalla ricerca di «documenti legati alle armi nucleari, e quindi top secret e con implicazioni per la sicurezza nazionale».

L’ex presidente Usa deve decidere entro le ore 21 del 12 agosto se intende opporsi alla mozione presentata dal Dipartimento di Giustizia che intende rendere di pubblico dominio il mandato di perquisizione che autorizza la polizia federale alle ricerche.

Il Washington Post, storico quotidiano di area liberal fondato nel 1877, è passato nel 2017 sotto il controllo di Jeff Bezos, fondatore di Amazon, mantenendo sotto la testata il motto “la democrazia muore nell’oscurità”.
