Perù: un Paese spaccato in due dal ballottaggio per le elezioni presidenziali

Perù. Poche migliaia di voti segnano la differenza dei voti tra i due candidati giunti al ballottaggio: Pedro Castillo e Keiko Fujimori.

La possibile vittoria di Castillo, che si definisce marxista e indossa il copricapo tipico dei contadini peruviani, allarma i rappresentanti degli interessi economici prevalenti nel Paese andino, ma lo staff degli esperti del suo partito hanno assicurato che non si procederà ad alcuna confisca o nazionalizzazione di beni e imprese private.

Pedro Castillo è un maestro di scuola primaria nella regione povera di Cajamarca, dove si trovano i giacimenti auriferi più grandi dell’America Latina.

Keiko Fujimori è la figlia dell’ex presidente (dal 1990 al 2000) del Perù Alberto  Fujimori, tuttora vivente, autore di riforme economiche improntate ai dettami liberisti e conservatori. Deposto e condannato per gravi violazioni dei diritti umani, raccoglie tuttora un grande consenso politico nel Paese.
