Russia, la festa del Giorno della Vittoria mentre è in svolgimento Defender Europe la più grande esercitazione militare a guida statunitense dai tempi di Guerra Fredda

Russia ed Europa. Come ogni anno, anche in questo 2021 ancora in stato di pandemia, l’AP ci permettete di conoscere, attraverso le immagini, delle coreografie e dei volti che arrivano dalla Russia che festeggia ogni 9 maggio il Giorno della Vittoria sul nazifascismo. Una ricorrenza praticamente sconosciuta in Occidente, ma basata sul tributo dei 20 milioni di morti russi nel secondo conflitto mondiale.

L’idea della grande manifestazione si è concretizzata nel 1965 al tempo di Leonid Brezhnev con l’esposizione della potenza armata e di un popolo che non dimentica la sua capacità di resistenza.

Per avere un’idea di questo mito che ribadiva l’importanza decisiva dell’Armata rossa nella sconfitta militare del nazismo si possono ricordare i versi del poeta cileno Pablo Neruda, Nobel per la letterature nel 1971: «Unione Sovietica, se insieme raccogliessimo tutto il sangue che hai versato nella lotta, tutto quello che hai dato, come una madre, al mondo, perché la libertà agonizzante riavesse vita, un nuovo oceano noi avremmo, di tutti il più grande, di tutti il più profondo».

Non deve sorprendere perciò l’importanza che a tale manifestazione viene riconosciuta da Vladimir Putin pur dopo il venir meno del regime sovietico, come fattore di identità e orgoglio di una grande nazione che mantiene rapporti difficili con l’Occidente. Non è infatti da trascurare che, nel frattempo e fino a giugno, è in corso Defender Europe 2021 e cioè la più grande esercitazione a guida statunitense del dopo “guerra fredda” in un’area estesa molto vasta, a ridosso della Russia, coinvolgendo i Paesi baltici per poi estendersi verso il Nord Africa passando per i Balcani, mai del tutto pacificati e con stretti e storici rapporti con Mosca.
