Ucraina. Il segretario di Stato Usa Antony Blinken ha incontrato durante il vertice della Nato a Bruxelles il ministro degli Esteri ucraino, Dmytro Kuleb.

Secondo il segretario generale della Nato, Jens Stoltenberg, «negli ultimi giorni la Russia ha mobilitato migliaia di soldati pronti al combattimento lungo i confini con l’Ucraina. Si tratta della più grande mobilitazione di uomini al confine dall’annessione illegale della Crimea nel 2014».

Il capo di stato maggiore ucraino Khomchak, ha dichiarato che il suo Paese «si sta preparando per l’offensiva nell’Ucraina orientale» prevedendo anche e «la partecipazione di alleati Nato» che tra l’altro sono impegnati nella maxi esercitazione Defender-Europe 21 che prevede un impegno massiccio dell’esercito statunitense. Anche 2 navi da guerra Usa sono in arrivo nel Mar Nero.

Il 14 aprile Stoltenberg presiede una riunione con i ministri degli Esteri e della Difesa dell’Alleanza, con la presenza diretta di Blinken, mentre Biden e Putin si sono sentiti per un incontro diretto in sede di un Paese terzo da individuare.
