Villa Ludovisi, la prestigiosa villa d’epoca nel cuore di Roma, contenente l’unico soffitto conosciuto dipinto da Caravaggio, è stata messa all’asta per ordine del tribunale dopo che la casa è stata restaurata dai suoi ultimi occupanti: una principessa nata in Texas e il suo defunto marito, membro di una delle famiglie aristocratiche di Roma. La villa è conosciuta anche col nome di Casino dell’Aurora, e contiene anche sale affrescate dal Guercino (AP Photo/Gregorio Borgia)
