Visita del Segretario di Stato Mike Pompeo in Europa mentre negli Usa è a pieno regime la campagna elettorale per le presidenziali di novembre.

Di origini abruzzesi, Pompeo, già capo della Cia, di fede evangelicale, considerato un falco della politica estera. Recentemente ha pubblicato un articol, su un foglio tradizionalista, in cui attacca la linea del Vaticano nelle relazioni con la Cina.
