Under a cloudy sky on Thursday, March 26, 2020, a group of about 25 people, including members of the Alliance of Therapy Dogs and family members of residents, marched around Bright Leaf Senior Living, in Danville, Va., which has been closed to visitors for several weeks in an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19. Many of the social activities inside the facility have also been canceled, leaving the residents all but isolated in their rooms. The marchers smiled, waved, held up homemade signs and tried to talk to the residents inside, many of whom smiled and waved back and held up their own signs.
