Under a cloudy sky on Thursday, March 26, 2020, a group of about 25 people, including members of the Alliance of Therapy Dogs and family members of residents, marched around Bright Leaf Senior Living, in Danville, Va., which has been closed to visitors for several weeks in an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19. Many of the social activities inside the facility have also been canceled, leaving the residents all but isolated in their rooms. In tutto il mondo ci si ingegna per portare vicinanza e sostegno a chi vive solo. Sotto un cielo nuvoloso, lo scorso 26 marzo, un gruppo di circa 25 persone, tra cui i membri di un'associazione di cani terapeutici e alcuni familiari dei residenti, hanno marciato intorno alla casa di cura Bright Leaf, a Danville, in Virginia (Usa), che è stata chiusa ai visitatori per diverse settimane, nel tentativo di frenare la diffusione di Covid-19. Molte delle attività sociali all'interno della struttura sono state cancellate, lasciando i residenti quasi isolati nelle loro stanze. I partecipanti all'iniziativa hanno sorriso, hanno salutato, hanno sollevato cartelli fatti in casa e cercato di parlare con gli abitanti all'interno, che evidentemente hanno apprezzato molto il gesto.
