Continuano le proteste dei lavoratori agricoli in Spagna a causa delle politiche aggressive della grande distribuzione, che impone prezzi da sfruttamento e costringe le aziende a chiudere o lavorare in perdita. Un kg di arance, ad esempio, alla vendita vale 18-20 centesimi, ma produrlo costa di più. Per non parlare poi della crescente concorrenza dei Paesi extra-europei, che sono avvantaggiati da norme ambientali meno stringenti e che hanno un costo inferiore di manodopera. A questo punto, quindi, gli agricoltori vogliono far pressione anche sull’Unione europea perché si intervenga sul futuro della Politica agricola comune e perché si eviti che vengano ridotti gli attuali sussidi al settore. Oltretutto è da 30 anni ormai che in Spagna si è verificato un vero esodo dalle campagne alle città e nell’agricoltura si sono persi 700 mila posti di lavoro. (foto Lapresse)
