Amy Coney Barrett, 48 anni, avvocato, cattolica, anti-abortista, 7 figli di cui 2 adottati, è stata confermata dal Senato americano alla carica di giudice della Corte Suprema degli Stati Uniti. È la quinta donna nei 231 anni di storia di questa istituzione. È il terzo giudice (su 9) scelto da Trump che ha così ipotecato, tra le polemiche, l’orientamento della Corte Suprema per i prossimi decenni, perché le nomine sono a vita. La Barrett dopo il giuramento ha assicurato che sarà indipendente, sia dalla politica che dalle proprie preferenze.
