“I pompieri combattono contro le fiamme che non si fermano”. “Gli incendi distruggono migliaia di ettari di vegetazione, tra siccità e alte temperature”. I titoli sono sempre gli stessi, in Medio Oriente come in Argentina, in California come in Portogallo. Al confine tra Libano e Israele, il troppo caldo ha addirittura fatto esplodere alcune mine, aggravando le conseguenze degli incendi sulla popolazione. Come conseguenza di ondate di caldo, riscaldamento globale, incendi boschivi, tempeste, siccità e un numero crescente di uragani, l’Agenzia Meteorologica delle Nazioni Unite in un nuovo rapporto appena pubblicato, prevede che il numero di persone che necessitano di aiuti umanitari internazionali potrebbe aumentare del 50% entro il 2030 rispetto ai 108 milioni che ne avevano bisogno nel 2018.
