Trump ha presentato, a Washington, il suo piano di pace per il Medio Oriente, in accordo con il primo ministro israeliano Benjamin Netanyahu, che prevede Gerusalemme come capitale indivisa di Israele.

Nelle 80 pagine del progetto c’è anche la definizione formale di Israele e Palestina come due stati indipendenti, oltre alla previsione di 50 miliardi di dollari destinati ai palestinesi.

«Voglio che sia un grande accordo per i palestinesi, deve esserlo, è un’opportunità storica perché raggiungano un loro Stato, questa potrebbe essere l’ultima opportunità per loro». Così si è espresso il presidente statunitense alla Casa Bianca in assenza di rappresentanza del popolo palestinese che ha manifestato contro “l’accordo del secolo”.
