Si celebra ogni anno il 16 ottobre la Giornata mondiale dell’alimentazione che coincide con l’anniversario della fondazione della Fao. In questa occasione, l’organizzazione ha lanciato il rapporto 2019 sullo “Stato del cibo e dell’agricoltura” (The State of Food and Agriculture 2019. Moving forward on food loss and waste reduction). Un documento corposo, 182 pagine, che mette in evidenza quanto ancora oggi siamo scarsamente informati sulle perdite di cibo lungo l’intera catena della fornitura alimentare, sul perché e come queste avvengano.
