Molti capi di Stato e di governo hanno preso parte ieri a una conferenza di alto livello sulla sicurezza e la stabilità nella regione del Sahel, la zona dell’Africa ora crocevia dei flussi migratori da Sud all’Europa. La comunità internazionale promette 414 milioni di euro a favore della forza militare del G5 Sahel per combattere il terrorismo nella regione. Come spiegato nella dichiarazione congiunta, dopo gli interventi di Gentiloni, Macron e Merkel, «solo con la cooperazione» con i Paesi africani l’Europa può «contrastare il terrorismo e le cause dei fenomeni migratori».
