The Seminar on the Idea of University culminated in a round table discussion involving students and professors of the Sophia University Institute. This Forum presents some of the reflections offered offered on how a university is a real opportunity to develop community relations as the framework for teaching and learning. Knowledge needs to be enriched and transfigured by wisdom to form people who can contribute to a new culture for humanity today. During this first academic year, “Sophia” students and professors experienced the importance of studying in a community where life and thought are brought together with Jesus in the midst as the Teacher of all. Open dialogue and personally tailored study programs were qualities of “Sophia” that were particulary appreciated, allowing for past experiences to be integrated with a new understanding of other disciplines and cultures.
